Book Review | Howliday Inn by James Howe

3.5 stars ★ ★ ★ (½)

Howliday Inn is book #2 out of 7 books in the book series: Bunnicula by James Howe.

In book two of the Bunnicula series, Howliday Inn we follow Harold and Chester as they embark on a new adventure after the Monroe family decides to take a summer vacation.

Unable to take Harold and Chester with them the family have to drop them off at a kennel called Chateau Bow-Wow. Once there they meet a bunch of new characters with different quirky personalities.

The problem is they find out the owner of the kennel, Dr. Greenbriar, is off work leaving them in the hands of his helpers Jill and Harrison who seem rather inexperienced and incapable of taking care of themelves let alone a kennel of animals. Soon after arriving mysterious things start happening raising suspicions from Chester and Harold thus causing them investigate the incidents and getting themselves into trouble.

Another funny little adventure written with great writing and enjoyable plot and characters.

In this book James Howe introduces us to a handful of new characters with all unique personalities that make a fun addition to the story. I thought that it was paced well and had a ending that wasn't wrapped up too quickly as the previous book.

The story didn't include Bunnicula but luckily Harold and Chester is enough to make me want to continue reading the books.

I also liked the illustrations better in this specific book than the previous Bunnicula book.

I'll definitely be continuing the series :)
